Are you traveling to Ukraine soon? Make sure to prepare yourself well. The country is bordered to the northeast and east by Russia, to the northwest by Belarus, to the west by Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, and to the southwest by Romania and Moldova. Furthermore, it borders the Black Sea in the south and the Sea of Azov in the southeast. Ukraine is the largest country in Europe in terms of land area and is the second largest country in Europe after Russia.
Vaccinations are recommended for Ukraine and there are several health risks to be aware of. Which vaccinations apply to you depends on your own personal health. During an appointment at one of our Travel Clinics we can advice you accordingly.
Recommended vaccinations
There is an increased risk of measles in this country. A MMR (Mumps Measles Rubella) vaccination is recommended for anyone who has not been vaccinated against measles or has experienced the disease.
In the Netherlands, most children now receive a vaccination against BMR. We therefore recommend a vaccination for some travellers. This advice depends on age, past vaccinations and diseases experienced.
Vaccination against hepatitis A is recommended for all travelers to this country.
