North Korea vaccinations

which ones do you need?

Are you going to North Korea soon? Prepare your trip well. We recommend certain vaccinations for North Korea although these are only mandatory when you enter the country from a country where yellow fever is prevalent. Which additional vaccinations you require, is dependent on the duration of your stay in this country.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is a country in East Asia, in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. North Korea was formed in 1948. The country borders South Korea to the south – the Korean Demilitarized Zone separates the two – and China and Russia to the north and northwest. Due to its political situation and closed character, North Korea is not exactly a touristy destination. Tourists are only allowed into the country in organized groups, and are not free to come and go. Spontaneous adjustments to the travel programme are virtually impossible. Nonetheless, a visit to this country – that until recently was nearly completely isolated from the rest of the world – is quite an experience. Capital Pyongyang is home to many political monuments and statues of great leaders and the ancient capital of Kaesong, with its many historic buildings from the Goryeo dynasty.
