Are you travelling to Tunisia soon? Our health experts recommend vaccinations for Tunisia. Which specific vaccinations you require is dependant on the duration of your stay in this beautiful country on the Mediterranean coast.

The Tunisian Republic is located in North Africa. Together with Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria and Libya, Tunisia belongs to the Maghreb. The climate in Tunisia is affected by the Sahara, the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlas Mountains. The north has a warm sea climate with mild and wet winters and dry, hot summers. The south has a hot desert climate. The best time to visit Tunisia is during summer, between April and September.  Regardless of which places you will visit in Tunisia, always keep account of possible diseases and the strong sun. 

Tunisia vaccinations: the most common risks

Vaccination against DTP is recommended for all travelers to this country.

Vaccination against hepatitis A is recommended for all travelers to this country.

There is an increased risk of measles in this country. A MMR (Mumps Measles Rubella) vaccination is recommended for anyone who has not been vaccinated against measles or has experienced the disease.

In the Netherlands, most children now receive a vaccination against BMR. We therefore recommend a vaccination for some travellers. This advice depends on age, past vaccinations and diseases experienced.
