Jamaica vaccinations: which ones do you need?

Are you going on holiday to Jamaica? We are happy to provide travel advice and help you prepare for your trip. Certain vaccinations are recommended for Jamaica although in most cases they are not mandatory. Which vaccinations you require, depends on the places you plan to visit and on the duration of your stay on this rhythmic tropical island.

The island of Jamaica is located in the Caribbean and has a tropical climate with an average day temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Jamaica is famous for its beautiful scenery: broad white beaches, beautiful sunsets, waterfalls and dense forests. Of course, the island is also well known for its music.  From the wonderfully danceable reggae of Bob Marley to modern dancehall beats: music is everywhere in Jamaica. Whatever your plan – you may want to visit the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston or travel to paradisiacal places such as Negril and Montego Bay – you should protect yourself well against various infectious diseases and the strong sun. Malaria does not occur in Jamaica.

Our KLM Health Services nurses are happy to tell you which vaccinations you require for Jamaica and gladly provide advice on how to prepare for your trip to the ‘Land of Wood and Water’. Click here to make an appointment with one of our nurses.
