Pakistan vaccinations: which ones do you need?

Are you travelling to Pakistan soon? This travel advice provides you with information about the climate, places of interest and health risks. It is important to know that vaccinations are recommended. In most cases these are not mandatory, unless you enter the country from a country where yellow fever is prevalent. What other vaccinations you require for your trip to Pakistan is dependant on the duration of your stay.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is on the Indian subcontinent and is neighboured by India, China and other countries. Due to the large differences in altitude in Pakistan, the climatic conditions and temperatures can vary greatly. If you plan to travel through northern Pakistan, then April, September and October are the most suitable months. The best time to travel in southern Pakistan is between November and March, unless you are traveling through the lowlands where it can be very hot. Pakistan is a good destination for adventurous travellers: in the north are the Himalaya Mountains and the North Highland and there is no shortage of beautiful panoramas, deep valleys, authentic villages and hiking opportunities. Pakistan also offers archaeological remains of ancient civilizations and huge cities such as Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.

Regardless of your travel plans for Pakistan, always take into account the risk of (tropical) diseases and mosquito bites. Malaria occurs in Pakistan. Our KLM Health Services experts gladly tell you what vaccinations you require and provide advice on additional measures you can take to minimise health risk during your stay.
