Are you travelling to Sint Maarten? It is important to know that certain vaccinations are recommended for Sint Maarten. The island of Sint Maarten, which lies 240 kilometres east of Puerto Rico, is part of the Lesser Antilles and is divided between France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The French part is known as Saint Martin. Since 2010, the southern Dutch part is one of four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Previously, the island was part of the Netherlands Antilles. The island has a monsoon climate with a wet and a dry season, though temperatures – ranging between 28 to 32 degrees Celsius  – are very enjoyable all year round. From the end of June onwards you must however be aware of tropical storms and even hurricanes.  Regardless of your itinerary for Sint Maarten, you should always be aware of (tropical) diseases and protect yourself against mosquitoes.
