Who needs an aeromedical medical examination?
Aeromedical examinations at KLM Health Services are intended for organisations that have employees who fly or are training to become pilots. We carry out these examinations for, amongst others, airlines, flight schools, organisations with flying personnel, and companies that train employees to become pilots. We offer a range of aeromedical examinations for various purposes:
- Class 1 (flying for commercial purposes, such as in civil aviation)
- Class 2 (recreational flying and smaller commercial pilots)
- LAPL (gliding, drone flying, hot-air ballooning and microlight flying)
- Class 3 (intended for air traffic controllers)
Scheduling and application for the examination always takes place via the employer or training organisation.

Hoe verloopt het proces van een vliegmedische keuring?
If you have staff who need to fly, it’s helpful for the medical assessment process to run smoothly and efficiently. That’s why we always organise aeromedical examinations in close consultation with your company.
Tailored coordination. We start with a brief discussion about the type of examination required and the number of staff involved. This ensures our services are perfectly tailored to your specific situation.
Scheduling. We schedule the appointments for your employees in consultation with you. We take availability into account to ensure that day-to-day operations can continue as normal.
The examination itself. On the agreed date, our specialists carry out the examination.
Assessment and certification. The examination is followed by a medical assessment. If everything is in order, the official medical certificate is issued so that the employee can return to work quickly.
