Expat Medical Examination

Are you relocating abroad as an expat or sending employees overseas? Then a medical certificate is required. KLM Health Services conducts medical examinations for expats, examining several vital functions essential for safe deployment abroad.

What does it involve?

The expat medical examination will be tailored to the specific situation. We offer various expat medical examinations. If the entire family is relocating abroad for an extended period, we also provide specialised expat medical examinations for children.

The examination begins with a detailed analysis of the medical history. We then conduct several tests, including blood and urine tests, as well as measuring height, weight, body fat percentage, BMI, and blood pressure.

In a comprehensive examination, we examine hearing and vision, perform a resting ECG, and conduct lung function tests. Our physician will discuss the questionnaire with the employee, and a physical examination will also take place. Depending on the destination, a vaccination consultation may follow at our Travel Clinic.

When is the medical examination required?

  • Are you or your employee going abroad for work for an extended period? If so, a medical certificate is likely required. At KLM Health Services, you can obtain this certificate by undergoing an expat medical examination.
  • Our doctors have extensive knowledge of international situations and are therefore well-equipped to conduct the examination effectively. In addition to the up-to-date information we receive from the National Coordination Centre for Travel Advice (LCR), we also have a comprehensive network of medical doctors abroad.
