Contaminated soil worker’s examination

Do you work with contaminated soil? If so, you will be aware that this may be harmful to your health. For this reason, KLM Health Service offers a periodical medical examination for those who work with contaminated soil.

Who needs a contaminated soil worker’s examination?

If you work with contaminated soil, it is important that you undergo a medical examination periodically. This contaminated soil worker’s examination is conducted annually in accordance with CROW regulations.

What does a contaminated soil worker’s examination involve?

The examination is subdivided into three classes:

Class A examination is intended for people who work with contaminated soil. During the examination, we test your hearing, eyesight and sense of smell. We also take blood and urine samples. We measure your length, weight, BMI and blood pressure. We also test your lungs. The doctor also conducts a physical examination.

Class B examination is supplementary to Class A. This examination is intended for people who wear protective breathing gear when working. As an additional examination, we test the examinee’s resting heart rate (ECG).

Class C examination is supplementary to Class B. This examination is intended for people who work with self-contained breathing apparatus also known as compressed-air breathing apparatus. As an additional examination, we test the examinee’s maximum exertion rate.
