Ambulance health check (PAM)
Working in ambulance care is already a heroic act in itself. At KLM Health Services, we take great pride in ensuring that ambulance staff are fully certified and approved.
The Periodic Occupational Health Monitoring (Dutch: PAM) is a regular medical examination for ambulance staff. With the PAM, we can check and keep track of your employees' health, helping them to do their jobs safely and well.
What does the PAM include?
The PAM has two main parts: a health check and a physical test.
During the medical part of the check, aspects including your height, weight and blood pressure are measured. Your eyesight and hearing are also checked. A medical examination will be conducted. Your mental state, eyesight, hearing, and any risk factors linked to cardiovascular disease will be examined.
During the physical part of the health check, the examining doctor tests for fitness and overall well-being. This part of the examination consists of:
- Ladder-climbing test
- Balance test
- CPR test
- Stair-climbing test
When is the PAM required?
- The PAM is specifically for ambulance drivers and paramedics. It’s required for all staff aged 40 and over, and they will need to have this examination every four years.
Once a ambulance care worker has completed the examination, they will receive a certificate of medical fitness.
Where does the PAM take place?
The medical examinations will be conducted at your location.
