Medication
When you need medication in daily life, it is important to be well-prepared. Your destination may not have what you need in stock.
Here are some tips:
Arrange sufficient medication in good time for the entire duration of your trip.
Ask your pharmacy for a ‘medicine passport’: this will help you easily obtain replacement medication in case of loss or shortage. This passport also makes it easier to take medication abroad, as it specifies your usage and dosage.
- If you are diabetic and use insulin, consult your diabetes advisor before departure about your schedule.
- Carry a sufficient supply of medication in your hand luggage during your flight, in case your checked baggage does not arrive on time. You can also visit our pharmacy at Schiphol before your flight.
- Please note that for some medications you need an international declaration to be allowed to travel with them. This applies to medications that may fall under narcotics or drug legislation. Consult your GP or specialist in good time to determine if this applies to you, or check the CAK website: Medication while travelling - CAK.
