Brazil vaccinations: which ones do you need?

Are you planning a trip to Brazil? Prepare your journey well as certain vaccines are recommended, however not mandatory. The required vaccinations vary and depend on the areas you plan to visit.

It all depends on whether you solely travel to a city on the east coast – Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paolo for example – or whether you plan an inland jungle tour. For example, in the Amazon, malaria and yellow fever are prevalent. If you visit this area, it is wise to get vaccinated and to take anti-malaria medicines.

Furthermore, you will need to protect yourself against the fierce sun and avoid mosquito bites.

Our KLM Health Services nurses gladly inform you about the immunisations and vaccinations for Brazil and on how to prepare for a healthy trip. Click here to make an appointment (in Dutch) with a nurse.
